Dear Evangelia Stamatopoulou (ICS to CSV Converter)
Dear Evangelia Stamatopoulou,
Thank you for being an amazing human person, and particularly for putting out your free tool to the world, the ICS to CSV converter. It is worth way more than the small “buy me a coffee” donation I was able to send to you.
I have a need to sync up existing Salesforce records with existing Google Calendar events - about 100 or more of them for each month of the year.
One option: I could just look at the Google Calendar UI and try to match things up. Of course it would take forever, but the real reason that I can’t do this is because to make a true sync between these two platforms I need to get the Google Calendar event ID onto my Salesforce records.
Another option: Sign up for a free trial of a paid service that can download all my Google Cal events to CSV. I started down this road, but the service I found had way too many bells and whistles and part of the process seemed to be adding tags to my events - who asked for that? Not me!
The way I came to your excellent tool was Ecosia (better than Google) searching for “Download CSV of Google Calendar Events”. Little did I know that these are the totally wrong words to be searching. But (thank you universe!) your tool miraculously came up in this search, and provided me with everything I needed.
From your tool I also learned that the searching I should have been doing was for “ICS to CSV converter” - I just didn’t know or think that that was possible, silly me! Once I learned that from you, I did end up popping it into Ecosia to see what else I could find. There are other free services out there that I haven’t yet tried, but YOU provided options for choosing things like having dates and times in the same cell or separated, and choosing the date and time formats. AND you have a running list of updates and feedback from users and a date of when the tool was last updated. Hello my hero!!
I hope to follow in your footsteps and share all that I have and know with the internet and the world, in case any of it is useful to anyone else. Your contribution is beyond useful to me and I want to thank you so much for that.
Keep being great, and peace,
Emily
